In the original Trigun canon, there is no Plutocracy. The orbital stations are the remains of the Project Seeds colony ships, not a separate ruling class. The twins Vash the Stampede and Knives Millions were created by Rem Saverem and the Project Seeds team as Plants, not engineered by a shadowy council. Knives was never affiliated with any Plutocracy; he is a Plant who rebelled against humanity on his own terms. The planet's harsh conditions are natural, not the result of elite abandonment.
